VBS Report

We had a GREAT VBS. We averaged 60 kids a night. I am not sure of any salivations but I know that God was working on some kids hearts this week. A gal at our church is opening her pool to us tonight for a VBS pool party. It is sure to be a fun time. I am not sure how relaxing it will be but it will be fun!

God taught me something this week too. I need to be thankful and grateful for all that He gives me. With Him giving us this vehicle, doing the No Other Gods study, everything I have is from Him and I need to treat it like that!

We sang a song called "Thankful". It just really spoke to my heart. I pray that we all remember to think about the goodness of the Lord, and that He gives us EVERYTHING we need and so much more!
Have a great rest of your day!

Nothing new

There has not been much going on in our world. Last night we started VBS and I am teaching 1st and 2nd grade. We had a total of 48 kids for the first night! That is amazing! Last week Jamie had his church softball tournament. I am not sure where they finished up, but I saw a group of guys that had not played very well all year, come together and really do a great job! They made it to the final round on Saturday. Jamie hurt his ankle, but it is healing slowly.

We are getting used to the new vehicle. It just different than our van and it is going to take some getting used to.

One thing God is showing me is that I can't allow that vehicle to become and idol for me. IT could very easily go to my head, or I could become obsessed with keeping it clean, dent and nick free etc. Because of the No Other Gods study, my senses are heightened to the whole idol thing. God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave us this new to us vehicle and had me doing a Bible study about idols! LOL :)

I hope you are having a great Monday! Keep your focus on Him this week! You will be glad you did!
Love you!

God Provides!

Well, thank you all for praying! The numbers worked out! Not exactly like I wanted but we are only paying about $100 a month more for our new to us vehicle! We will have to tighten the belts, but we were spending too much on going out to eat anyway. In a few more months after some things get paid off, we will have a little more breathing room. Thanks for all your prayers and continue to ask God to help me disciplined in the way of finances.

If anything the No Other Gods Bible study has taught me is that I need to set my heat on God and He will take care of everything else. Thanks again! I will try to post a picture later. IT was raining yesterday! Love you all !

A Prayer Request

My blogging friends and Siestas, I would like for you guys to help us pray about something. An opportunity is arising in the next day or so for us to get a different vehicle. We are outgrowing our mini van (no I am not pregnant) the kids are just getting bigger and would be more comfortable in something bigger. As well as the fact that we are fast approaching 120, 000 miles and we still have 2 years left to pay on the van we have.

All that to say that we would like for you guys to pray that it is abundantly clear if this is what God wants us to do or not. I have been praying that it will be new and be a certain payment. The one we are going to look at tomorrow is 2005 but it has less than 30,000 miles on it which is a plus. Please just intercede that God will give us the payment that I have in my head, and that we will know beyond a shadow of a doubt. Pray also for a peace whatever the outcome!

If God were to give this vehicle to us, it would by far be the nicest vehicle we have ever owned. Anyway, I will let know what happens over the next day or so.
Thanks so much for interceding! I love you all!

Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We did. The fourth was spent visiting friends houses for great food and fellowship. The fireworks got rained out, but that was okay because we desperately need rain! In fact, it rained for 3 days in a row! Thank you God!!

We have almost finished Kaylee's room. Jamie is still working on the closet organizer. IT is going to be so nice for Kaylee to have her own closet. The only thing I regret about her room is that my camera was dead and I did not take a before picture. I would have been to embarrassed to show it anyway. There was so much writing and such that it looked terrible. The walls were painted with flat paint so no amount of Magic Eraser would have gotten it off. Semi-gloss paint is the way to go with kids!! It all wipes off so well. Hopefully we are out of the writing on walls stage.

Here is a sneak peek of her room. I will post a picture when everything is done.
The other great thing is that our church service was great! Jamie preached on Is.6:1-8. It was very moving and I think some people actually got it. Sunday night we had a movie night and watched the movie Facing the Giants. It is such a great movie with a great message. "NOTHING is impossible with God." Which speaks to so many right now with the way the money situation is in America right now. The movie is more than football, it is about allowing God to reign in EVERY area of your life. From new vehicles, to winning football games, from keeping your job to getting pregnant. God wants all of our life not just part. When we truly give Him all, He will bless our socks off! If you haven't seen the movie, or even if you just need some encouragement to get you through the day, go here to watch the trailer, you will be glad you did! Have a wonderful day, and remember, NOTHING is too big for our God!

A Little Design Help

For some reason, this had been a busy week. I am bound and determined to get Kaylee's room painted. Hers, ours and our bathroom are the only rooms left to be painted after being here for 3 years :)! Anyway, Kaylee is at the age where she wants to have her room her way. There had been some discussion about it not bad, but still discussion, and I think we are finally in agreement. The other challenge I face is that the front part of her room is the "schoolroom." Since we have boys and girls we color for the schoolroom has to be gender neutral. Kaylee wants pink walls with dark pink and lime green polka dots. I found her a comforter online that has all these colors in it, and hopefully it will be here by Friday. I am posting a picture of this so you guys can help me decide something.

I am thinking that a color close to the color of my signature would be good on the school side of her room. What do you guys think. I have a sample color from Lowe's that I painted a little bit and it looks good. The other walls in Kaylee's room would be in between the light and dark pink in the comforter. The dots would be the dark green stripe and the darker pink. There are 3 windows in the room 2 would be in Kaylee's room and 1 in the school room. Please all you design on a dimers, help me out!
