A Movie to NOT See

There is a movie that opened yesterday that in my opinion, Christians can not go see.  This movie The Watchmen  masquerades as a superhero movie with action much like the Dark Knight, but it is filled with pornographic scenes and other sexually offensive scenes.  Focus on the Family's Plugged In Movie Review says it all here.  It lays out every disgusting detail.  It is too graphic for me to place on my blog so if you would like to read it go here.  I am going to worn you though even the explanations are very graphic.

This movie is rated R so that should clue you in right there.  I know what you are thinking, everyone has different judgements and convictions about movies.  I totally agree, but I also think that if something is this sexually graphic we all need to think about whether or not it would be pleasing to God for us to go see this.  Those images will be in our mind forever.  I went to the movie's website last night and started watching the trailer for the movie.  In the first few minutes of the trailer there was an unkind reference to God, and I turned it off.

I will get off of my soap box for now, but please think twice before supporting this movie.  I think we as Christians should let Hollywood know that we WILL not stand for these kinds of films.  The best way to do that is to not support them with our time or our money.

Confession: I saw this movie...and it was rough. I mean really rough. It reminded me to do some research on films before going to see them.

The thing that frustrates me is this: it could have been a great movie, if it did not have the garbage in it. It had potential; however, the profanity, sex, and over-the-top violence were way too much.

In summary, I did see it, but I wish I had not.
